Texas Cruise

We call ‘em Texas Cruises.

The two Carnival ships, the Carnival Conquest and the Carnival Ecstasy, sail out of Galveston to great locations in the Eastern and Western Caribberan.   We like to call those cruises a Texas Cruise.  It’s kinda right in our backyard.

It’s all part of the Carnival Conquest Eastern Caribbean cruise itinerary.

Eastern Caribbean Cruise. Your seven sensational days start upon departure from the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. Next stop is the Key West, where you can check out many of Hemingway’s six-toed cats and original manuscripts with a quick visit to his house, sample unique culinary gems like the world-renowned Key Lime pie and conch salad, or make the rounds of many colorful bars frequented by equally colorful people.

After Key West comes Freeport, Bahamas where you can shop, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, or simply beachcomb til you drop! Finally, there’s amazing Nassau, which you’re sure to leave with many beautiful memories.

First, take a few days in Galveston.  It was hit hard by Hurricane Ike, but those Texans in Galveston didn’t sit around waiting for FEMA or anybody else to come bail them out.  They got busy with what they had and went to work.  Now Galveston is shining again with still a little more to do.  I was there earlier this summer and stayed at the Hotel Galvez, which I have said before is one of my all time favorite hotels.  The trees and the shrubbery took a major salt water bath and citizens are trying their best to save the trees.

That being said, Galveston is open for business and ready for visitors.

On your Eastern Caribbean cruise, let’s talk about the first stop you will make as a Texas Cruise passenger on the magnificent Carnival Conquest.  It is Key West, Florida and it’s another of my favorite cities.  Key West is Hemingway, Harry Truman, and a lot of colorful Key West residents.  Southernmost pointHemingway ’s house is open for tours and we did exactly that.  We enjoyed the six toed cats, looked at some of the original manuscripts, and of course, took pictures to remember our trip there.  We went to the southernmost point, the bars on Duval Street, and enjoyed a very nice meal at a great restaurant.  We also took a tour of the area around Key West.

Since that first trip, we have been back to Key West twice.  We’ve been Tarpon fishing, to the Truman little White House, Henry Flagler’s hotel the Casa Marina where we walked right out of our room into the salt water.  We visited Mallory Square, the Shipwreck Museum, and went parasailing.  What was my favorite?  Gosh, hard to decide, but I loved Hemingway’s house and the Little White House as Truman called it.  On the land trip back another time, it had to be the Tarpon fishing. We both walked around the town and drove on a second trip there.

The point is…..we’ve been there and done that.  You can call Texas Cruise Cruise Company at 1-325-835-7561 and we’ll find you a cruise to Key West, help you with the shore excursions, and help you make your next Texas Cruise your very best memories.
