Joan Bowden (far right) of Escape Travel, associated with TravelTex/Texas Cruise Company, hosted a lively Texas version of World’s largest Cruise Night, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. The “Cruise Night” was held at The Ranch Steak House in Cedar Hill, Texas. The owner and staff were very accommodating. Carnival provided everything needed to make the night successful. Many questions related to cruising were answered when Joan played the informative DVD Carnival provided. As a result of her participation in this year’s World’s largest cruise night, Joan received valuable referrals and several people signed up for the Realtor Cruise on Carnival, October 2010. It is billed to be a night like no other in the cruise industry. In one 24-hour period on October 14, 2009, thousands of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) member travel agencies participated in the World’s Largest Cruise Night. Travel agencies across North America will join together to promote cruising as the vacation option of choice – all in a single day. And this year, many agencies will conduct an online event.
The World’s Largest Cruise Night (WLCN) is just one of a series of innovative initiatives launched in celebration of October’s National Cruise Vacation Month (NCVM), a North American celebration of the cruise experience. CLIA member Travel agencies across the U.S. and Canada are focusing their promotional efforts to educate travelers on the value and diversity of today’s cruise vacations through Cruise Nights, cocktail parties, luncheons and a myriad of cruise promotional events.
