Carnival cruise ships mean great food

A few quick facts:

Conquest Crew: 1,150
Date Launched: 2002
Decks: 13
Size: 110,000 tons
Passengers: 2,974
Registry: Panama

The mighty Carnival Conquest is one of the very best of all the Carnival Cruise Ships and it sails right out of Galveston, Texas making a cruise from Galveston convenient for all of Texas and a large portion of the central USA.

The Carnival Conquest is decorated in an artistic theme of the ‘impressionists’ such as Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir and Manet.  If you are a ‘country’  Texan, don’t let any of that bother you.  It’s just very colorful, fun and bright.  Think bright and cheerful and you’ve sort of got the theme down.  The feel good colors give the Conquest a great atmosphere to start your cruise.

Let’s talk food…It’s not the Dairy Queen

Don’t start any diets before you enjoy what your  Carnival Cruise Ships have to offer from their kitchens.  The Carnival Conquest and the Ecstasy both have super menus.  Just imagine every carnival-ship-and-foodmeal at a very nice restaurant with attentive waiters at your beck and call.  They don’t even lift an eyebrow when you order a second lobster.  How do I know this?  Because I hurt myself on my last cruise from Galveston on the Conquest.  I first had lobster and steak.  Then had a second lobster tail.  I added a third lobster and crawled back to the room.  Yes, I got my fill of lobster and no, the waiter did not mind one bit.

I’ve said this before but here is my description of the dining experience on the Carnival Conquest.  The maitre’d in the dining room sounded like The Terminator,  looked like Jessie Ventura,  and sang like Frank Sinatra.  Every dining night was a good experience.  Very entertaining and very good food.

You can call Texas Cruise Company at 1-325-835-7561 or if you prefer, book your Carnival Cruise Ships cruise online by visiting our Carnival link here.  Just keep in mind when looking somewhere else online, there are always other fees involved.  We never hide fees or extras.  We know how to save you money on the cruise you want without any surprises.

How do we know?  …we get lots of repeat customers and they tell us.

You will need the entire week to try out all the restaurants and little specialty dining areas on the Conquest.  The Lido or pool deck restaurant is called the Cezanne.  We ate there several times because it was close to the pool and was a buffet.  You can always add as much coffee or ice cream as you can hold and top it off with frozen yogurt.  What else?  Hamburgers, veggie burgers, great fries, and I love the little Asian area with different food daily.  You can also go on a search and find mission to discover the Sur Mer, a seafood station on the second story of the Cezanne that offers fish and chips as well as lighter seafood menu.  And the dessert area was a favorite.

The kids (and me) will quickly find the 24 hour pizza station and a deli.  In the evenings, the Cezanne changes itself into the Seaview Bistro…same place, just different name for the later evening diners.

Bottom line…you won’t go hungry on Carnival Cruise Ships, especially the Carnival Conquest and the Carnival Ecstasy.

Don’t tighten your belt…there’s more.

Nearly all of the Carnival Cruise Ships have specialty restaurants that you pay a little extra for and they are worth it.

You can make special reservations while on board at The Point.  It is as good as nearly any great Texas steakhouse and the service is impeccable.  If you like wine, the very best is available.

Menu items include stone crabs, 24 oz. porterhouse steaks, filet mignon, lamb chops and more. All are the very best.  It’s not just dining, it is an experience.

Just a reminder.  There’s more….

Cafe Patisserie, located on the Promenade Deck, offers coffees, sweets, banana splits, sandwiches, and a Japanese style sushi bar close by.  You’ve got to experience all Cafe Patisserie offers several times on your cruise.

OK, here’s a short list.

  • There are two formal dining areas on Carnival Conquest….the Monet and the Renoir.  Monet is aft and has windows and is a great daytime dining locations.  Renoir is just off the atrium area and is more centrally located.  Dinner is served at 6:00 or 8:15 p.m.
  • But wait:  Newsflash- The Conquest also offers open seating (you just go in and sit down wherever) in some circumstances. That’s a new feature.
  • Breakfast and Lunch are always open seating and always in the Monet dining room.
  • There is the Restaurant Cezanne which changes into the Seaview Bistro in the late evening.
  • Asian station
  • Cafe Patisserie-for your sweet tooth
  • Sur Mer-A seafood station
  • The Point -specialty restaurant….did we mention the crab cakes?

As if that all was not enough, there is 24 hour room service available.  We often ordered coffee, croussants, and jelly for breakfast when we had an early morning excursion planned and it always arrived right on time.  They set it right on the bed and we didn’t have to rush to get up and go to breakfast.  Very convenient.  I did tip the wait person a couple of dollars every morning for that extra service.

When you get in from your excursion, head on over the the Cezanne or one of the little specialty areas for a snack, drink, or coffee before dinner.

If our reservation is the anytime open dining option, is that a choice of Monet or Renoir? Or is it assigned to one of those two?

You can either, call to make your reservation right before you are ready to dine and request either dining room, or go to the dining room of your choice and if there is seating available, they will accommodate you. Best to, when you know what time you want to dine, to call and get the reservation and dining room preference. Have a great cruise! :)

You ought to seriously think about expanding this blog into a major player in this niche. You obviously have a grasp knowledge of the areas everyone is searching for on this site anyways and you could definitely even make a buck or three from some ads. I would look into following recent headlines and raising the number of blog posts you make and I bet you’d start receiving some nice traffic soon. Just an idea, good luck regardless!
